
Welcoming Chris Herring to KSA
Kline Swinney Associates is pleased to welcome Chris Herring to our team.
Chris joins KSA as a licensed architect with more than 25 years of experience leading complex projects across a wide range of sectors, including higher education, research facilities, commercial, and mixed-use developments. He brings a thoughtful and collaborative approach to project delivery, with a strong focus on design quality, technical coordination, and client-focused solutions.
Throughout his career, Chris has led multidisciplinary teams through all phases of design and construction, delivering projects that successfully balance user needs, budget considerations, and long-term performance. His portfolio includes nationally recognized academic and research facilities for institutions such as Yale University, Princeton University, and California Institute of Technology, as well as large-scale office and mixed-use developments.
Chris holds a Master of Architecture from Yale University and is an active member of the American Institute of Architects. His depth of experience, leadership, and technical expertise will be a valuable asset to our team and the clients we serve.

Where are you originally from? What brought you to Nashville?
Originally from Memphis. Nashville is a great city in my home state.
What inspired you to pursue a career in architecture?
My fist job was on a construction site, and I’ve always been active in the arts – design, drawing, sculpture. Architecture and design offer opportunities to create a positive impact in communities.
As an experienced professional, what sorts of projects have you worked on?
I’ve been fortunate to work on a wide range of project types and learn from each experience. Working with higher ed campuses, public schools, and developer offer different opportunities to be of service to the client and community.
