Welcoming Dalton Steele to KSA
Kline Swinney Associates is pleased to welcome Dalton Steele to our team.
Dalton brings a unique combination of architectural and design-build construction experience to KSA, with a background focused primarily on industrial and food production facilities. After earning his bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Idaho, he spent four years with a design-build construction firm, gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of complex projects, including large-scale apple production facilities, an OSB wood manufacturing plant, a powdered sugar plant, and food production facilities serving major grocery retailers.
His experience has given him a strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems, steel building design, and the construction process. Dalton particularly enjoys the early stages of a project, when programming and schematic design begin to shape ideas into solutions, as well as the later stages of construction when those ideas become a finished space.
At KSA, Dalton looks forward to bringing his experience in industrial and food production environments to a variety of projects while continuing to grow his architectural experience. His problem-solving mindset, technical knowledge, and understanding of construction make him a valuable addition to our team.

ABOUT YOU. Tell us a little about your background. Where are you from, what led you to your career, and what brought you to KSA?
I am originally from Boise, Idaho, and my family and I moved to Nashville four years ago. My interest in architecture grew from my love of problem-solving and creativity. What brought me to KSA was somewhat unexpected. I was contacted by a recruiter, and during my first few interviews, I quickly realized that KSA was somewhere I wanted to be.
EDUCATION. What is your educational and professional background?
I earned my bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Idaho. After graduating, I began my career with a design-build construction firm specializing in industrial and food production facilities. I worked there for four years before joining KSA. During that time, I gained experience working on a wide variety of projects, ranging from a OSB wood manufacturing plant to large-scale apple production facilities.
EXPERIENCE. What types of projects and work have you been involved with?
I have been primarily involved in food and beverage projects throughout my career, including an apple-slicing facility, an applesauce production facility for GoGo squeez, a powdered sugar plant, and ready-to-eat meal facilities serving major grocery retailers. This experience provided me with valuable knowledge, particularly in the areas of mechanical and plumbing systems, steel building design, and construction.
YOUR ROLE AT KSA. What are your areas of expertise? What parts of the design process do you enjoy the most? What are your looking forward to working on or contributing to at KSA?
At KSA, I hope to contribute this experience and knowledge to a variety of projects. My favorite parts of the design process are the early stages of programming and schematic design, where ideas and solutions begin to take shape, and the later stages of construction, when you get to see the final product come together.
I am looking forward to contributing to many projects at KSA and sharing my experience in Mechanical and Plumbing systems, steel construction, and the overall construction process.
JUST FOR FUN. Tell us something about yourself outside of the office. What’s something people might not know about you?
Outside of work, I enjoy fishing, camping, traveling the world, and playing guitar.
